Key Challenges for Project
- Upscale residential project with over 1800 apartments in 4 towers to be provided an integrated smart security solution. The scale of the project was challenging, with aesthetics being one of the key requirements.
- All apartments needed individual connections to the main security system. Guard or concierge systems were also to be considered for the entrance and lobby area.
- Being high-rise buildings, these had mandatory requirements for gas leak and fire alarm systems, which needed to be a part of the security solution.
- A sophisticated management system was needed for the overall monitoring and operation of this large-scale and complex security system.
The Onetouch Solution
Onetouch used a combination of technology backed by smart devices which were installed as a part of an integrated software management system. Let’s look into the solutions that were implemented.
Smart Devices
A guard phone was provided at the reception of each tower. This allows 2-way communication between the apartments and the reception area in case of visitors or any emergency. We provided the MAVDP or Multi-apartment video door phone solution for this project. Each apartment was provided with our video door phone and smart doorbell. The video door phone includes a 7” indoor screen that allows homeowners to see and connect with visitors outside their homes. The video door phone serves as an intercom system between apartments throughout the residential complex. The smart doorbell is equipped with a camera and motion detectors. These send alerts to homeowners through the VDP in case of any suspicious activity. Additionally, these devices are also connected through the Onetouch Mobile app which the homeowners can use on Android or iPhone devices. It gives them complete control over their home security from anywhere at any time.
We also considered IP phones for all common areas in case there is a need to contact an apartment or the security gate in any event. 200 IP phones were installed so that residents can always be in touch with help when they need it.
Security Management Software
A security system of this scale is complex and requires a sophisticated management solution that will help in monitoring this integrated network of devices. Our SDMC (SIP Device Management Center) acts as the heart of the system providing security personnel complete control over numerous devices spread across the residential complex.
Alarm Systems and Sensors
High-rise buildings are not only mandated to have additional security measures like fire alarm systems, but it is vital to the safety of residents. Onetouch Gas Leak Detectors were installed in all apartments at the complex. A notification is immediately sent to the guard phone, apartment VDP screen as well as the main security office through the SDMC, when the alarm is triggered.
Onetouch also integrated the fire alarm system with security solutions throughout the apartment complex for enhanced safety. In the event of a fire in the building, alerts are shared with the residents through the VDP screen in the form of an alarm. This immediately alerts everyone in the building of any danger so that people can effectively escape to safety.
As both these alarm systems function in real-time, action can be taken immediately in case of an emergency without losing valuable time. This enhances the safety of the residents’ manifold.
Aesthetics
Aesthetics are very important for any home, even more so in the case of a luxury project. The concern of the client was whether such a large network of devices affects the look and feel of the entire complex or will they have to struggle with accommodating extensive wires and cabling. The beauty of Onetouch systems is that they run on both Cat6 as well as fiber backbone. The entire system was based on optic fiber internet which is usually accommodated as a part of any smart project today. Onetouch solutions eliminate the need for any additional wiring.
